Matt and George & Their Pleasant Valley Boys play powerful intense traditional bluegrass. The band recently released Blue Grass Style on Pleasant Valley Records, which is being played on radio worldwide, and has earned accolades and garnered attention from notables in the industry. The band performs frequently all over Northern California, and are coming to Monterey for the first time. The event includes a public jam, with pickers and grinners welcome from 4pm and a dinner at 6pm. The cost for the meal is $10 and benefits the church.

Mandolinist Matt Dudman is an authority on blue grass music of the late 1940s, having collected, studied, given workshops, and contributed to various scholarly publications on the subject. He has appeared across the country at the IBMA ‘Fan Fest’ in Kentucky and on Louisiana’s Abita Opry and has even taken bluegrass abroad to Vietnam and France. As for banjoist George Goodell, he has been top hired gun for live and studio work in Northern California. Together Matt & George have performed on ABC Television, at the International Bluegrass Music Museum’s ROMP festival in Kentucky and at the California Bluegrass Association’s Father’s Day Festival, among many other venues.
